e-VOA (Index B1)
TOURISM / BUSINESS- Initial Stay: 30 Days
- Extension: 1 Time (30 Days)
- Cannot be converted to KITAS
Visitor Visa (Index C1)
EXTENDED STAY- Initial Stay: 60 Days
- Extensions Allowed (Up to 180d)
- Requires proof of onward flight
Document & Biometric Specifications
I. Passport Validity Protocols
To be eligible for an electronic visa, applicants' passports must meet stringent criteria:
- Validity Window: Must have a minimum validity of six (6) months from the intended date of entry into Indonesia.
- Physical Condition: Contain at least two (2) completely blank pages for arrival/departure stamps.
- MRZ Consistency: The Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) uploaded must perfectly match the travel document presented at the border.
II. ICAO Photograph Standards
The digital photograph submitted must adhere to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards:
- Type & Recency: Full color (min 400x600px), taken within the last 6 months.
- Background: Solid plain white or off-white, free of shadows or patterns.
- Biometrics: Neutral facial expression, eyes directly facing camera. Head coverings permitted strictly for documented religious reasons.
Common Visa Rejection Causes
Understanding system triggers can prevent administrative denial.
System Rejection (MRZ Mismatch)
Typographical errors that do not perfectly align with the uploaded passport Machine Readable Zone trigger automatic system denial without refund.
Insufficient Validity Trigger
Attempting to apply with a passport expiring in less than 6 months from the projected arrival date is grounds for immediate refusal.
Biometric Verification Failure
Uploading non-compliant photographs (e.g., selfies, patterned backgrounds, poor lighting) that fail facial recognition software checks.
Interpol / DGI Blacklisting
Applicants with prior histories of overstaying (overstay penalties) or immigration violations in Indonesia will be flagged by central systems.
